ah, and so another year has come and gone.

so much as happened, something which goes without saying.  my life from a half a year ago seems like a lifetime ago, and so much has happened in the recent past that it seems like it's lasted a very long time.  but still, it has only been a year that's passed--less than a year since my last post, and so much has changed since then!

change.  i've talked to a lot of people about it recently, and this year has been full of it.  relationships, friendships, family, death, life--so many things, so many people, so many lives have changed.  and yet, that is necessary in life, is it not?  the realization that change comes, the realization that we need to accept those changes, and the realization that those changes are life, are the realizations that lead us to learning that life is change.  but it is in human nature to reject change, not to receive it with open arms.  changes come with hurt feelings and fear, the greatest of which is the fear of the unknown, for change brings with it the uncertainty of the future we know now.  or the future that we thought we knew.

i come back to TC, and i feel different from when i came back last winter.  no doubt that's because the city's changed, my friends have changed, my family has changed, and i have changed.  there is not one single factor that i can identify, but rather a web of interconnecting relationships and reasons for the change.  and although i realize that change is a part of growing-up, a part of life, i don't like it.  i don't like things that i can't control, and i don't like not knowing what things will be like.  but as a friend quoted to me in a dark moment:  "grant me the serenity to accept the things that i cannot change, courage to change the things i can, and the wisdom to know the difference", i've realized that there are somethings that i cannot change, and i have accepted that--and perhaps it does not make me happy, but at least i've accepted it for what it is.

change brings progress.  but progress, on rare occasions, may not be the best thing for ourselves.  with the new year coming up, and this year coming to an end, there will be many changes to come.  be they good or bad--well, we shall see.

a happy new year to all.  and may the changes in the year to come be good ones.

listening to: moulin rouge - come what may

it's been a year since my last entry... and i know that it's obvious, but so many things have happened since then.  in two weekends from now, last year, i visited berkeley for my first time--and so many things happened that weekend to shape and change my views on many things... not only the school, but my friends as well.  funny to think, if i had never come up that weekend, i wouldn't have met a lot of people, many of whom i call my friends right now.

it feels like i've changed so much over the past year as well.

i remember that we used to joke in high school about how our lives would make a really good WB show.  all the drama, humor, scandal, more drama--right in here in our lives. but honestly...  in the past few months, i feel like i've been living in the same rut.  it's been a fun, sometimes. it's been painful other times.  but it just goes in a circle.  i feel like peyton from one tree hill when she was in a realtionship with nathan--not going anywhere, but still stuck in it.  so i decided to get out. for the time being at least.

i don't want to go back to the same circular rut though.  i've finally climbed out. it's not fair to for me to fall back in, to walk in circles, only because i know what's going on, what's coming next.  and of course i know what's going on... i've seen all the scenery before.  when it was new, even the ugliest little hut looked cute, rustic. now it just looks ugly.  i want to travel, see new places.  i just can't walk the circle anymore. not that it wasn't fun, exciting, interesting.... but i need something more now.  i'm not sorry for changing, not sorry for needing something different.  but i am sorry if i've hurt people on the way.  so, i'm sorry.

but then again, there are always some areas in which i haven't changed. for instance, i've decided to come back to xanga after a year because i'm putting my 8-10 page history paper off.  sounds familiar, eh?

k bye.

what a weekend !!

first of all, i want to thank everyone that came and supported us by watching the musical.  it was an awesome experience to be able to perform for all you guys and finally see the faces and hear the applause.  =) it made all of those long rehearsals and late nights worth it... although i'm still catching up on those lost hours of sleep.  i have to say, however, that this musical experience passed by really quickly though... maybe just because there was so much to do that three months still didn't seem like enough time to put it together, or just because it's my last one... and i wanted it to last longer.  what am i ever going to do with my free nights now ?! besides... homework, of course.  but yea, it was amazing--the show, yes, but also everyone (cast, pit, crew, production staff) that worked so hard to make it come together.  and also, the audience who bought the tickets and laughed and clapped and cheered and gave us a sold out house to perform to, at least two bounce curtains each performance, and standing ovations every night/matinee.  i feel that i'm not even beginning to express adequately how amazed i feel about doing the show and hearing the feedback and seeing people that i haven't seen for the longest time in the audience, and it all means so much to me.  so, thank you

and there's so much other stuff that's happened over this weekend, its hard to believe that it's only been three days.... well, four now.  i'm sorry.

Monday, February 20, 2006

i think that the weekends seem short because i sleep through half of it.  the thing is, i don't get enough time to do stuff that i need/want to do, but at the same time i need to sleep, since i don't do enough of it anyway.

so yes. this weekend has been quite interesting... karen moved into her own room, so now i have my own room !!! yes, i sound excited because it's the first time in my life that i've had a room all to myself. =) now i want to decorate. hah.

i think i need to babysit andre tmrw... we might go see curious george. that is one cute monkey. hahaha actually, i sorta want to see brokeback mountain... but i dont think that i should bring my brother to that movie. at least, not yet. maybe in like.. 15 years or so.

goodbye. cherry
